Krivoklat Castle dominates the small village of Krivoklat, about 60km from Prague. With its origins in the 12th Century, Krivoklat Castle has been beautifully restored and makes an easy day trip from Prague.

Krivoklat castle is visible from the train station though in this case the view is obstructed by gorgeous autumnal trees.

A fifteen minute walk brings you to the castle with a ticket office on the track leading up to the main gates. If you don’t want to go inside you can walk around the grounds for free.

A few hundred metres behind the castle is a stunning viewpoint from where you can take some wonderful photographs.

Just above the castle there is a beautiful carp-filled pond and allows great photographs with a reflection of the church.

Getting there
Krivoklat castle is easy to get to from Prague. Take a train to Beroun, change there for a local train which stops in the village of Krivoklat The journey takes 83 minutes.
