telc

Telc is an amazingly beautiful little town in South Moravia. After a fire in the late fourteeth century, the houses of Telc were rebuilt in stone and since that time, little has changed in the centre of Telc. It makes an excellent place to wander around for a day,and there is also plenty see in the surrounding area. Click on the images below to make them bigger.
telc main square While there are buildings outside of the main square, they are not of great interest and are a marked contrast to the great beauty of the buildings inside the main square.
telc houses Wonderfully ornate baroque facades. A little over the top perhaps?
top of Telc square The view looking up the square. Thankfully this part of the square has been spared the ignonimity of being turned into a car park.
telc church At the southern end of the square there is a large church (1667) and a chateau buit in the late fourteenth century Despite a couple of fires, the chateau is still standing and is now open to the public.
