Bruno, the anti-hero, with Jenn in the jacuzzi

Bruno with Jenn...

Parce Que Je T'aime was written by a very good friend of mine, Jérôme Talou. The book is written in very easy French - in fact, so easy that I could probably have written Parce Que Je T'aime myself. The story is about a boy called Bruno who is a big fan of 'things technical' but he is also a big fan of the opposite sex. So can Bruno put his technical skills to good use when it comes to attracting lovely young women? Read Parce Que Je T'aime to find out! Scroll down for details on how to order the book. If you're using, or thinking of using, this book in your class, you may want to download some support material from the easy readers website. What do people say about Jérôme's book?

"This is exactly what I've been looking for!" Louisa, England

"I read the PQJT and it is good ! Very lively and easy to read." Matthieu, France

"I just thought I'd comment on this reader. After seeing an earlier message about the book I decided to order it. And I really like it! It's always a problem to find student readers that are written in simple language, but with content that will appeal to the target age group. I think that "Parce Que Je t'aime" manages it. Basically, it's about a teenage boy who meets two girls in a local online teen chat room and tries to date both of them at once! It's a very innocent story but nonetheless appealing. There's plenty of repetition, as he tries to use the same hackneyed chat-up lines with both girls and so on.... It's part of a series of books in various languages, written with a limited vocabulary (in this case 400 words) I recommend it and hope that there will soon be more in the same vein!" Mattie

Dear Jerome,

You had me at Page One!!  Ok, so how do I get the whole thing?  I love it!

Mary

"Ce roman me semble intéressant pour mes élèves." Lena, France

"I finished your book. It was good for my french - I liked the little key word translations at the bottom of the pages and a lot of the french was pretty simple so I read a lot without having to look in a dictionary on every sentence (which I did have to on some other french books I read) well done - keep writing." Suzanna, England

"J'ai lu votre livre hier soir, c'est trés sympa et effectivement je trouve le principe pédagogique." Cyril - Pau, France

"A quick hi and to tell you I think your book (Parce que je t'aime) is great! I read it for the first time in the doctor's office and loved it! I'm going to try it on my French IV students, since they are the only ones who will be able to sink their litera-teeth into it." Kirsten - Washington DC, USA

"I found you story incredibly interesting, I just couldn't stop reading, willing to get to the ending." Eva - USA

"Read your book last night.  Was convinced it was autobiographical.  Until I got to the last page where the postscriptum clearly explained that it wasn't :-)!  No seriously, it's a good book, I liked it.  The story is funny, too." Elena - Paris.

"J'ai lu le premier chapitre et je l'adore déjà ! Laura - Pau, France.

"I enjoyed the story and think my kids will be ready for it next year.[...] I like that you had many references to current culture. like "ZZ" and "mdr." I think the kids can releate to the characters. I have 2 teenagers at home and I know that they like to chat with their friends on the computer." Ellen, Ohio, USA

Véronica: I have finally read your book.  I really enjoyed it!!  I had a good laugh quite a few times, very amusing.  I am glad I got to understand the humor, well done!!  I am looking forward to know what happens with the good, romantic Bruno...
