me and cm

Eight rings in the air!!! Well, just long enough for the picture to be taken. Here I am (alias Quack Quack) juggling with (Captain) Mickey Oettli. We took the Kindergartens of the Mannheim area by storm until Mickey tried paragliding behind a car with a second hand parachute... We met up again in 2004 - look at the result - an mpeg file - by clicking here.

Adel on a free-standing ladder

Here is Adel, my good Egyptian friend. In his show, Adel stands on an unsupported ladder with another guy on his shoulders and juggles together with three others. Trained by East Germans when Egypt flirted with communism, the show is technically excellent though lacks humour, - unlike Adel who is a bundle of laughs.

Jeremy at luxor

Very old but incredibly beautiful. Oh, and I'm juggling at the Temple at Luxor, Upper Egypt.

Radek

Here is mad Radek. my juggling partner in the Czech Republic. Radek speaks miserable German and his English is even worse. We communicated in a mish mash of three languages which perhaps explains our limited success. However we were the only 'Czech' visitors at the European Juggling Festival in Torino in 1997. Travelling in Radek's 18 year old Skoda, we crossed the Alps suffering only a minor problem - brake failure on the side of an Alp...

J and Ronan

Me and Ronan, ex-President of the Trinity Juggling Club in Dublin. We are dressed up in bits of old carpet and car inner tubes in a pretty weak attempt to look like devils. Accompanied by a large dragon we were part of the St. Patrick's Day parade. More than two hours, watched by about 750,000 and countless millions more on television. And what did they get paid? A can of warm coke and a limp sandwich...

Owen Reynolds

Owen Reynolds, only sixteen but a very talented juggler, currently studying in Bristol, England. This boy is going to go far... Watch out for him. (An update... Owen HAS gone very far including Las Vegas. For more information, click here.)

me in Austria

Here I am in a park in Austria. Five large white balls at the same time - not bad when I could barely hold them! Earlier in the year I won the Irish convention five ball juggling competition. But perhaps my greatest success was back in 1986 when I came third in the European Juggling Convention five ball competition. My best ever time is 4 minutes 8 seconds. It doesn't sound that much until you realise that five ball juggling involves throwing balls at a speed of about four balls a second.

amputee juggler

An interesting picture of me swinging firesticks in February 2001. Fortunately my left arm grew back again shortly after this photograph was taken.
